Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate)
** Accepting New Clients **
Pamela (Pam) has been in the helping field for 20 plus years and considers it a privilege to come alongside her clients, to empower and provide ways to cope through life's difficult circumstances.
Early in her career, Pam spent twelve years teaching challenging needs children in Newfoundland and Alberta. When her three children were raised, she decided to return to university to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. After completing her degree she returned to her birth province of Nova Scotia, to begin counselling in Truro,
In 2015, Pam founded a nonprofit organization that provides a safe residential rehabilitation program for young women who have been sexually exploited.
This organization has helped many young women overcome their traumatic experiences and make a new life for themselves.
Pam has experience supporting men, women, adolescents and children who exhibit diverse emotional issues that can cause anxiety, depression, anger, substance abuse, trauma, difficulties in school, grief, codependency, marriage and relationship problems. Pam's approach to therapy is integrative and applies (but not limited to) person centered therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to her sessions.
Pam is very excited to join the LivingWell team in Truro! Pam maintains a healthy lifestyle through her adventurous travels (yes, that is her on the rock!), staying active through hiking and spending quality time with her family. She is looking forward to coming alongside those hoping to overcome the challenges life inevitably presents.
