It is our pleasure to introduce Lori MacDonald as part of the growing LivingWell team!
After completing her undergraduate degree at Saint Mary's University and Mount Saint Vincent University, Lori decided to pursue the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program at Yorkville University. She will be doing her practicum placement at LivingWell starting in May 2025.
Lori considers it a privilege to have offered mental health support over the the past 20 years. Throughout her career, she has been a part of the intervention team at the IWK as an Early Interventionist and Residential Counsellor, a community support worker with Family and Children Services, Hants County, as well as a Youth Worker with the NS Youth Detention Centre. Lori believes in offering an integrative approach to therapy, holding the sacred space that each client has a unique capacity to overcome the myriad of difficulties they are facing.
Lori is a compassionate and skilled clinician in training and aims to help you identify and build upon your personal strengths, values, and beliefs to better navigate life’s challenges and achieve your goals.

** Lori MacDonald is a practicum student and is learning to practice her counselling skills and refine her approach to therapy. Lori is under clinical supervision with Valerie Brown, founder and therapist of LivingWell Counselling Therapy. As such, her therapy sessions are offered at a reduced rate of $60 for individuals and $80 for couples/families per 50 minutes. Please note Lori is not covered under insurance, and it will be up the to the client to cover payment and any late cancellation fees. **
