Student Counsellor

It is our pleasure to introduce Charlee Whidden. Charlee will be joining us for her counselling practicum starting in June 2026!.

Charlee is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. She previously completed the Social Services program at Nova Scotia Community College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Charlee brings experience in both behavioural and mental health settings. She has worked as a Behavioural Interventionist supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, including those with complex needs and behaviours. She has also worked as a Mental Health Support Worker supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds navigating a range of mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction. This work has shaped her approach to prioritize safety, trust, and meeting people where they’re at.

Charlee takes a holistic, trauma-informed approach, adapting her work to each person’s unique needs. She works collaboratively with individuals to explore their experiences, identify meaningful goals, and build on their existing strengths. She brings curiosity and a non-judgmental approach to her work, taking time to understand and validate each person’s lived experience.

Charlee aims to create an environment where individuals feel empowered to make meaningful change in their lives. She fosters a relaxed and supportive space where individuals can speak openly and be themselves, while moving at a pace that feels right for them.

Outside of the therapy room, Charlee enjoys spending time with her partner, two dogs, and four cats. She also loves crocheting, baking, and going for walks with her friends. These practices help her stay grounded and connected, both personally and professionally.

Charlee is looking forward to meeting you as you step into your healing journey!
